Martin was a player on five champions (Yankees 1950-53, '56) but only won one WS (Yankees 1977). He wasn't around for the finish to the 1978 championship season. (However, if we count "played for a champion team" as "played any part of that season", perhaps managers should get equal "managed any part of that season" grace, in which case Martin qualifies.)

One is Ralph Houk: player on six (Yankees 1947, '49-53) and manager of two (Yankees 1961-62).

I'm not sure whom the other is. It's not Berra, he never won a Series title.

Ralph Houk only actually played (or at least batted) in two WS, one AB each in '47 and '52, but he was a member of other Yankee teams that won.

Bill Carrigan of the Red Sox won as a player in 1912, 1915 and 1916 and was also manager in '15, '16. You said player managers don't count, but this was the only other one I could find.

As has been stated, Billy Martin only won once as a manager. Bob Lemon won the WS in a season started by Martin.

In searching on this, it was interesting how few managers won multiple World Series. The only active ones are Torre and Larussa. The most recent others were Cito Gaston and Tom Kelly.
