Guilty your honour, though I don't own a car, and try to recycle as often as I can... still that's no excuse.
Every single person living on this planet is effectively destroying it - if man was not around, the Earth would be a healthier planet.
How anyone can say man has no effect on the environment is unbelievable.
Deforestation releases carbon and methane, and the less trees we have, the less carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere.
Fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) when burned, release sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide - perfect for acid rain and contributing to the greenhouse effect.
Tonnes of sewage, fertiliser and toxic chemicals contaminate our waters every year.
Chemicals, fertiliser, herbicides, building, quarrying, and dumping waste all pollute the very land we live on.
Yes I am a hypocrite, as we all are, but should we all be guilty for being born? No person lives a pollutant-free life and never has (even cavemen had fires).
However, there is much we can to reduce the pollution: if only there weren't so many ignorant people out there...
If we are merely fleas on a dog, then I pity the poor pooch, because there are over 6.6 billion of us, and if we all did just a little bit to reduce pollutants, then combined, it can be a great help to the environment... and for future generations.

I recognize there is global warming. We have a large nuclear fusion engine some 90 million+ miles from the planet called the Sun and it is in a cycle where even polar ice caps on Mars are affected. I also know that the temperature variation between stratosphere and ground on the planet is not as large as to condemn mankind for producing "green house gases" in sufficient quantity to make one shade of difference in the climate.
I am not a modern Luddite who has bought into all of the nonsense put forth by Al Gore and the crowd of arrogant souls who think that man can reverse or slow down that climate change. I recognize, when it comes to this planet, that I am merely a flea on the back of the dog. So, I will continue to fly, continue to operate my car and continue to eat meat from different sources and not feel like a hypocrite because I am not one.

That's an unfair question, because, in order to answer it, you have to first be under the delusion that flying, driving, and eating meat are bad for the environment. Thankfully, I'm all grown up. I drive a v8 Dodge Ram, take frequent flights, eat chicken, pork, veal, turkey, lamb, mutton, beef, and the occasional ostrich, and am a very happy person. If you say I'm a hypocrite, well, that's your opinion, and I can live with it.

You have to ask who is doing more harm the little guy trying to get by day to day? Or them big companies run by all sorts that the gov. continues to endorse?
When, and if ever, they are brought FIRST to their knees to behave environmentally, then, and only then, should the poor everyday YAHOO's be held responsible for the pollution that is damaging this planet. Don't you think? Good to know you are thinking about it, just remember to go for the big guys they are the ones that need to be brought down. Chasing the small fry only pisses us off.
