Overall I would say yes, though it does depend on whether you really want to be a social worker. Your background in biology will have a home in social work as much of human behavior has a biological component.

A BSW opens up many areas in human services and to a MSW degree.

If it is in you to help people then Social Work is the thing for you.
My girl is a social worker, and i can see that the work is very demanding, yet rewarding as well.

Honestly anything is better than Bio. I got my BS in biology and now am working on a Masters in English Composition. Do what you really want for yourself. You'll regret it if you don't.

It's fine if you want to be a social worker. The only problem is that it tends to lead to rather low-paid jobs.

more flexibility with social work degree.counselor, etc good choice
