yahoo answers is stupid. it deleted my question. LAME. it was a good question. I was serious. I honestly am wondering what is wrong with our world. or society. the US...whatever.
every other day..."A shooting at this church" or "10 people injured in a mall shooting" or "6 killed and 2 injured in school shooting"
I live in a really good district. STILL. we had a threat for a shooting at my school. WHAT IS WRONG WITH US. WHY IS EVERYONE GETTING KILLED.
Two of my friend's dad's committed suicide. My brother's best friend's brother just drowned, and my best friend's friend died. A girl from my school left the room crying because she wasn't sure if her friend was still alive or not after a shooting. my history teacher tells us about columbine, and how she was at a neighboring school, and how awful it was.
WHY?! kill yourself for all i care but dont TEAR APART INNOCENT FAMILIES JUST BECAUSE YOUR LIFE ISNT PERFECT. THATS THE POINT OF LIFE. IMPERFECTION.

For some reason it has become a fad. I wouldn't call it society's fault, and it's certainly not a new thing. The same thing has gone on for all of human history. This is not some new invention of the 21st century because of video games or some stupid crap like that.
There are just always bad apples. I don't really think that taking away all the guns is going to work. Let's face it, making something illegal doesn't keep it from making its way into someone's hands if they really want it.
I acknowledge that a lot of people get killed by guns they themselves own, by accident, but making them illegal isn't going to stop a school shooting. The guys that shot up Columbine weren't even of legal age to buy a gun in the first place, and they STILL got their hands on an arsenal.
Other countries (England) can pretend all they want that crime doesn't happen there, but it does. It just happens with knives and chavs in the park instead of guns.

Values are important and to lend an ear and listen to what they're feeling. If I'm not mistaken the ppl who commit this crime can be mistaken as anti-social but they're just the same as we are struggling but some can cope up with their own problem and some cannot. Sometimes the society that person lives in pushes him to be that way let's say he's being bullied and the anger just keeps building in him until he's going to explode and become irrational. The most important in a society is to instill the value of life and listen when they need someone to listen to them then perhaps these incidents would have been avoided. It would probably help that each campus will have an organization a mixed of culture and social status like something to do with brotherhood

Considering you're 14, I undestand the confusion, but welcome to the human race adn human society. Yes, it's screwed up, cruel, unjust and horrible, but it's life get used to it. It's not always bad and right now you're just picking out all the bad stuff to focus on, instead try looking on the bright side. The newspapers and TV focus on the bad stuff becasue it's the sensational stuff, it creates a story and makes people interested because human nature is perverse and we'd rather see the gory stuff than the positive things. So if you want an alternate side of it, focus on the good stuff that's happening: like safe darfur programs or the way the whole country responded to 9/11 or Katrina.
And if you don't believe me, look at Katrina: there were people looting all over and then there were people coming on their own boats, with their own money just to help those in need.
So just look on the bright side. And hope for the best.

it isnt just people
its that the media only reports the bad stuff
when was the last time you heard that someone did something good that the media reported about it for more than a few min and then was forgotten about
some people are fucked up
but most aren't
most just want to go to work and raise there kids and have a good life
then the few that are fuched up
thats the reason why we need to thin the herd sometimes

Because people refuse to see beyond the problem. It's like standing in front of this huge 10-ten rock. How could you move it? It's in your way! You need to go somewhere! You have things to do! Help! Help! Help! .... They forget to walk around it... Yes, problems are not nearly that simple. It's just an analogy. They just never get past that dark place, the rut in which they are stuck. They are so envious (and hateful at the same time) of others, that they "take them with them." Which I think is stupid. I don't want them to hurt themselves in the first place, but if you do, DON'T take anyone with you. That is so DAMNED unfair.

Your question has me wondering if Yahoo's system automatically deletes topics with the word 'gun' in the title line. I had perfectly good topic deleted that was about the security guard in Colorado who brought down the shooter at the church.
Whatever the case, you could probably benefit from getting some grief counseling to help you deal with some heavy issues. There's no shame in reaching out for help for something like this. Taking to a professional is much better than venting in a public forum like this.

liberalism. not the people- but the ideology. it is the idea that ppl are not to be held accountable for everything. we have new diseases- like add and stuff like that to make excuses for undisciplined children who act up. what they need is stricter rules that will be followed or else. they need to be slapped by a parent for acting up- not to be put on a pill that does not work.
if a teacher takes away a students recess for not doing their homework, the angry parents come in and get the teacher in trouble for punishing them. ppl get away with everything and they never learn self control or moderation- look at the obesity rate- look at the murder rate you know so well. i feel for you alot- i understand what you are going through. hang in there. find religion if you havent. find god.
but until ppl can be hald responsible for their own actions, it will stem out and leak and cause problems and ruin lives. you are right- those ppl are angry and take it out on others because no one made them learn to cope. as we move from religion into a secular ideology, we cannot use a set of morals because that risks angering ppl of other idoelogies. so the result i that eventually there is no standard- cops become criminals bc thay shot a guy attacking them- families are torn apart by confused ppl with guns- women get raped and intimidated into not saying anything- minorities become the majority w/o numbers, but with privelages (which is sometimes necessary and a good thing but it gets carried away, like when a cop gets assaulted by an illegal- he gets a lawsuit for being racist and profiling).
pray man, and im sorry your life is like that... it makes you stronger- just pray...

Because we have sick people in it. Because many out there don't care about others. Because we have a government that does not take care of mentally ill people properly. Because churches don't do enough to assist. Because sometimes families are in denial about their loved ones problems. Because people didn't teach their children how to cope well in life. Because people have come from horrible abusive homes.
Because people have free will and don't use it very well.
That's why.

What makes a mass killer??
Here are the components:
Bored sociopaths.
Insensitivity to violence through repeated exposure to video games, violent movies and media sensationalism of other shootings.
The availability of assault weapons.
Parental indifference or disconnect.
Loner or part of "Hate" group.
They think they will be famous. They become infamous for maybe 15 minutes. When they see what they have done, they turn their gun on themselves.
There has to be some way to identify these people before this ever happens and get them into deep therapy, maybe forever.
