With my daughter I took a test 7 days past ovulation using a very sensitive test I bought on-line, which only needed HCG levels to be at 20. I was shocked when it came back positive, it was very faint, but definitely a positive. I guess I implanted at the very earliest tiem possible, 6 days past ovulation. I didn't use first morning urine either, I just made sure I didn't use the bathroom for 2 hours before taking the test. We had only tried 1x so we got very lucky.
With my current pregnancy it was the 2nd month we had tried, and I waited until my period was due, because my doctor had told me with my daughter that 50% of fertilized eggs end up either not implanting properly or miscarrying, and that had scared me the first time. He said that it drops to about 25% once you miss a period because implantation has been over for a few days at least. The day my period was due, which was 12 days past ovulation, I got a positive. I had just woken up and used the bathroom, but then remembered that my period should have been there, so I waited an hour and took the test.

12DPO I got a BFP with a dollar tree test and I backed it up with a Rite Aid digital test. Both had a sensitivity of 25mlU. I tested BFN 8DPO and 9DPO. I dug the 9DPO test out of the trash(on 12DPO) and saw it had a second pink line. It was a First Response 6 days earlier test. That prompted me to test immediately. I couldn't believe it so I took 4 dollar tree tests and a digital the same day. I got pregnant via sperm donor, clomid 150mg, and progesterone suppositories. It took me 3 times. Sperm Bank said it takes 4-8 tries. I was going to take a several month break if cycle 3 didn't work bc the meds and the BFN were too much to bear.

first time, day after missed period, took it in the afternoon, positive, second time, went to planned parent hood, to rule out pregnancy...(long story there) and it was positive, in the morning, but not first morning urine, this time, 3 days late, bought test, took it as soon as I got home in the evening, positive again!!! I have never taken one that was negative when I was pregnant.

I tested 2 days before my period was due. I couldn't stand the taste of my Long Island ice tea the night before and it made me curious...we were trying though :)
