I was a single mom that rented, there is no such thing as free money unless you qualify for welfare and in that case they will hold a lean on your house. Get the father of your children to pay support if he already isn't doing so.

No but you can try for a Home Equity Loan or Line of Credit (HELOC). You would still be making payments as it is a mortgage and not a handout.

By the way, I'm a single mom, grandma and I own my home.
