I need to put together a selection of Broadway songs for a choir concert for kids from ages 6 through 18 and I've run out of ideas once I picked through Wicked, Aida, and Phantom of the Opera. If anyone on here can think of some suggestions (solos and duets would be wonderful also!), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :)

Songs I've done with that age group:

Let Me Entertain You - Gypsy
Getting to Know You - King & I
Lullaby of Broadway - 42nd Street
Consider Yourself - Oliver
Comedy Tonight - Forum
Anything Goes - Anything Goes
Seasons of Love - Rent
Happiness - You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
Just One Person - Snoopy
We Go Together - Grease
We're All In This Together - High School Musical
Spoonful of Sugar - Mary Poppins
Circle of Life & Hakuna Matata - Lion King
I Got Rhythm - Crazy For You
There’s No Business Like Show Business - Annie Get Your Gun
I Won't Grow Up - Peter Pan
You Can't Stop The Beat - Hairspray (I edited out Penny & Edna's parts for time)
Heart and Music - A New Brain
Our Time - Merrily We Roll Along
We Are The World (no show)
Ain't No Mountain High Enough (no show)
Reach (For the Stars) - S Club 7 (kids group, not a show)

Duets (just suggestions, I have't done these):
Anything You Can Do - Annie Get Your Gun
Bosom Buddies - Mame
Kindred Spirits - Anne of Green Gables
Sisters - White Christmas
Stepsisters Lament - Cinderella
A Whole New World - Aladdin
Tonight - West Side Story
I'll Cover You - Rent
Written In The Stars - Aida
Who Will Love Me As I Am - Side Show
The Song That Goes Like This - Spamalot

Solos, there are just tooooo many to choose from. If you tell me what voices and ages you have to work with maybe I can make better suggestions.

There are tons more, but I'm not sure what you're looking for and what's ok :-) http://sheetmusicplus.com/store/smp_fastresults.html?cart=34065537763507553 That site has a lost of songbooks and they always list all the songs in them. I would buy them from Amazon or somewhere else because they always sell them at list price whereas Amazon sells cheaper but this site give more info. Amazon never gives a complete list of the contents.

good luck,
Marianne

Matchmaker from Fiddler
Gary, Indiana from Music Man
I Won't Grow Up from Peter Pan *very cute if you have small children*
Songs from Cinderella
I could Have Danced all Night from My Fair Lady
Show Off from Drowsy Chaperone
Some Things are Meant to Be from Little Women *Very touching but needs good actresses*
Whistle a Happy Tuner from King and I
My New Philosophy from Charlie Brown
Little Lamb from Gypsy
***Alot of Disney songs are in a child's vocal range and also some of them have been Broadway shows- Mary Poppins, Lion King, High School Musical (on tour), The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, and Beauty and Beast
Good Luck!!!

Those are some great suggestions. :)

Some of my favorites:

If I Can't Love Her - Beauty and the Beast

Not While I'm Around - Sweeney Todd

Seasons of Love - Rent (really good for a large group)

Without You - Rent

Come to Me - Les Miserables

Castle on a Cloud - Les Miserables

On My Own - Les Miserables

Bring Him Home - Les Miserables (lots of gems in that show)

Sail Me Away - Lestat (might be hard to find the sheet music to this one though)

Sun and Moon - Miss Saigon

I Don't Know How to Love Him - Jesus Christ Superstar

Could We Start Again Please? - Jesus Christ Superstar

Memories - Cats

Here On This Night - The Pirate Queen

Enjoy the concert!

Itunes! Anytime I need to find songs, even if I am not going to purchase them - I look in Itunes. Do a search on Broadway Songs or something like that.
