Its in a 1976 camaro (like the one off of transformers) it runs good, but it needs alot of cosmetic work done to it including: paint, carpet, upholstry, that kind of stuff. All the electrical works. I want something fast, that looks good, at least under the hood. Im not going to be racing it or anything, but i want an impressive car that sounds good and loud. this car is being sold for $1500 and i was wondering if it was worth it?

It can be with carefully selected aftermarket parts, which are the cheapest and most plentiful for chev small blocks. I had a 350 in a work truck, it always had plenty of power. Test drive the car and you will see if it has enough power, or not. Don't listen to people pushing new cars, the newest car I have owned is a '78. I enjoy driveing different cars with a V8 rumble and pass all the tofu eating hybred drivers.

For a small block yes the 350 can be a very good motor, but in the mid 70's they were pretty weak but the block is about the same as any other 350 so you have a good motor to work with be careful how you build this motor balance will result in more usable power than over camming or over carbing a motor, they are fun and every one in the performance business make parts for them, the stroke and bore can be increased to well over 400 CID if you want to go that extreme, but a nice 355 CID with flat top pistons flowing thru a good set of heads and carbed and cammed right will be a lot of fun.

A 1976 350 is not a power house stock. But if you have the money it easily can be made into one. The best bet for looks under hood is to buy a Chevy kit that includes valve covers timing chain cover and air cleaner.. Don't buy cheap junk it will just leak. As for the exhaust. A good set of headers. Hooker,Headmen.and a dual exhaust kit from flowmaster will give it that sound of power you want. Time to get some Jegs and Summit Racing catalogs,or get there sites on the web. Start reading Car Craft and Hot Rod if your not already.

if yours has the factory 4 barrel carb , yes . have a compression/leakdown test done on the motor before anything ! this will tell you if you can start putting on performance stuff . keep it safe , loud isn't always good : )

Stock motor, No.... you can have it built, cam, pistons, bored out block, it all depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend.
