Most parents would be happy if there teenagers daughters did that for them. I sure would be. But it seems your mom is sad. It was a good gesture and a good thing to do. At least she said thank you. She acknowledge that you did it for her. Give her some time. She was already in a sad mood to begin with. It brought her mood up a little to say thank you. Plus having your daughter make you a card that says I love you in it is excellent. Give it time.

She might be on a diet lol. But yeah I would think she should be more grateful. If I could, I would love to make cookies for my mom. She died before I got the chance, and now I bake like 4 times a week. I'm 14, how old are you?

It sounds like she is severely depressed maybe? I know most parents would be extremely grateful. Especially since most kids these days are kind of spoiled and ungrateful. Anyways, I think that was very nice of you! I wish she would have been happier. Just know that you did the best you could. :-) And don't blame yourself for anything. It's not wrong to expect a better reaction.

I'm A mom and what My mom really went through as I was you I really didn't know she didn't wanna worry me until the day she found out she was sick with (cancer). She refused to let me know and the hole thing but U know what she and I talked and we both talked about it and well I took care of her until the day she passed away. Just try to talk to her never just think she doesn't care cause she does. :)

I really don't think that her mood has anything to do with anything you did. Probably something big happened that even your loving cookies and milk couldn't cheer her up. It's fine - just keep on being supportive of your mom and everything is going to be okay. :)

Maybe there is something going on in her life that you don't know about that is depressing her. Try talking to her while offering her the cookies. I'm sure she is greatful, but her mood just can't reflect that right now.

WOW! What a nice person and daughter you are. It sounds like you are feeling responsible for your mom's happiness and that is a lot for a teenager to deal with. Clearly your mom is sad and has some serious stuff happening in her life. And I am sorry to hear that...for her but especially for you. Of course you should expect your mom to thankful but she is tnot in that space. AND don't forget that it isn't your fault. You ssound like a fabulous young lady! Be true to yourself and focus on your life. Tell your mom you love her, everyday. But if she is as sad as she sounds, it isn't realistic to expect emotions from her that she doesn't have. Good luck to you.

No, you're not wrong. What you did is good! It's not literally mean that your mother hates you because of just not touching the food you prepared for her. Many people, who cannot eat something because of a problem. Be open to your mom. And as much as possible, try to comfort her by embracing her and tell her "Mom, whatever your problem is, I'm always here for you". I hope it will work.
Good luck!

She sounds like she may be ill, or has a lot on her mind. Try talking to her to see can you find out anything. Most parents probably would be delighted, but I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it. There's always a chance she just didn't realise how much effort you went to. My mother would be elated if I did something like that. Talk to her, and see if something is wrong.

It sounds like she's brooding about something or feeling depressed. I bet it means a lot to her that you made the cookies, but whatever has her feeling sad makes it hard to feel happy emotions and maybe kills her appetite.
