Until Prince Albert died in 1861, he and Victoria were a happily married couple, obviously indulging quite enthusiastically in the physical side of marriage, since they had nine children in eighteen years. As a result, sensual or suggestive overtones in British art and clothing were completely acceptable.
After Albert's death, Victoria became an exaggeratedly grieving widow, and in sympathy with her, all these sensual overtones in British art and fashion quickly died out. They only began to reappear in the mid-1890's.

Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert, brought the Christmas tree to England from Germany. Victoria and Albert also romanticized the Scottish highlands, thus popularizing tartans and plaids; moreover, she started the tradition of wearing a white wedding dress.

I do not know if she set the trends but she didn't wear corsets which started a trend. So all women can thank her for being able to breathe nowadays.

Her extreme grief at the loss of her husband (Albert) caused every important person to wear black clothes on formal occasssions and also paint their houses' railings black.
