not at all. everyone is different. If she doesn't get it by 18 then have her checked out by a physician but other then that its completely normal. she will get it when her body is ready

I did not get my period until the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of high school...you should be GLAD she doesn't have to worry about that yet. It will come when it comes, let her enjoy being a little girl while she can. And for Pete's sake....if you are going to ask her paediatrician about it, wait until she is OUT OF THE ROOM....my mom pulled that one on my when I was 14 and it was so embarrassing I wanted to slink out of the exam room!!!! But more and more girls are getting their periods really early now a days, some 9 or 10 years old....and I think it is from al the hormones in milk and dairy products. (I think Kevin Trudeau might agree) I know when I was in school there was always that one girl that had a huge rack and was popular with all the boys, while the rest of the girls has to wait for something to fill their cups....now a days...every eight grade girl you see has full c cups...think about it! I switched my 7 year old daughter to soy milk almost 2 years ago...I wish I had read more about this kinda thing when she was much younger.

Most answering this question have given you their histories. Also don't forget that your daughter's traits, even the females ones, came from both your side and her dad's side. So there are 4 grandmas and more who made a contribution.

!2 is usually the norm but many girls don't start their period until later, some as late as 16.So reassure her that she will have her period and don't be anxious about it.
