No if you are sponsoring for an American visa you only need to prove you have a decent salary above poverty levels and you will need to show a yearly bank account statement on to Immigration and no one else.
Having money in the account is a good thing but not required if your salary is good.

A credible bank account and employment record is needed by someone who wanted to sponsor and support someone.
