Someone mentioned this in my other question. We used to be told to "listen to" our conscience. Can a conscience talk? I don't think so. So that "inner voice"...is it just a feeling or a voice? So if most of us were taught to listen to it...why do people say people are schizophrenic when they hear voices? Do you think that parents and teachers and churches shouldn't be allowed to tell kids to listen to their conscience(since it's said to be a mental illness.)

At times...I've had what seemed like a tiny electric shock when I said something I shouldn't have said...or started to do things I shouldn't. (not to say I get this "help" all the time)..Would that be .....who? who would it be doing that?

hislady...Do you feel like you get "tortured" thru dreams BECAUSE of what happened to you?
Like...blaming it on you?
I think I've heard only one voice outloud...calling my name waking me up when I overslept. The other times were "silent" ...voices in my head...sometimes VERY STRONG voices...like commands.(will tell you a time when this happened when I have more space.)

pd...I've got to think that if you hear a voice & it's not yourself it's got to be a spirit.(or your hearing someone else's thoughts like e.s.p.)Since you don't believe in spirits or e.s.p...you've got to believe it's schizophrenia. Also, I think there can be 2 people with e.s.p. who can talk back & forth to each other...with their thoughts.

2007-12-13 13:04:00 · update #4

hislady...I don't think I "hear" any "voices" anymore...at least I try not to..(except the dreams which I can't control) ..and my almost constant thoughts about what was done to me by people I loved & trusted. I guess it had to happen for me to realize what they were really like.

Okay, I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I think it's a huge range of different things. I hear spirit voices, both inside and outside of my mind. I also hear voices that I don't think are actually real, BUT my therapist AND my psychiatrist both agree that I don't suffer from schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder or even multiple personalities. They're abusive voices that seem to be an extreme aspect of the PTSD. They could also be negative/evil spirits preying on me. But I really don't think so, because a) there is not "heaviness" in my home, it's light and neutral and distinctly "clear" feeling. I also have psychic friends check out my house on a regular basis. And no, I'm not crazy. I'm perfectly sane, saner than most.

Sooo.... the point of all that being, on any given day it is REALLY difficult to know what exactly that inner voice I hear is. BUT...I have been able to ascertain the difference between them, but I do have to be in a neutral state of mind in order to them apart. So, yeah... some of those inner voices I hear ARE my spirit guides. I'm positive that MY conscience, my gut instinct, is, at least in part, my spirit guides. But for me, my guides voices are different--for one, they're softer than my gut instinct, and they have distinctly different "voices" and tones (my guides speak more regally, more formally, than I do). One really good example of this would be the Native American man around me...ever heard a native amercan speak? There's a distinct accent, it's the cadence of their words, the words they use, the softness of their voice. It's a very distinct accent, much the same way a southern accent is distinct. Or the Scottish spirit who visits me on occassion, who speaks in a very thick Scottish brogue.

A schizoprenic hears voice quite a bit similar to the negative voices that I hear. There's one difference...a schizophrenic is a bit seperated from reality in general, in their mannerisms and whatnot. I'm not exactly sure how, but I know there are ways a doctor (psychiatrist) can tell the difference, because they *didn't* see it in me.

None that probably makes any sense, but I had to comment. As usual. lol

EDIT: Denie... my nightmares/bad dreams are usually me being "haunted" by ghosts. The dream is scary to me, b/c of my past and those ugly memories, but the dreams itself usually aren't scary. The last one I had I was actually recieving messages from spirits, not bad ones either, but I was still really afraid of them. Which tells ME a lot.

The voices in your head... yeah, I get that a lot. My spirit guides sound exactly like that. It's something different inside my mind, but not a different voice, just different words used, cadence of the speech, that sort of thing. I get some lately I haven't been able to figure out, a completely different voice, but INSIDE my mind. That's a new one for me, and it's only as I'm falling asleep.

Whether one asks the Sages or the quantum physicists, the reply is the identical: Everything is particularly something in cover. To provide an explanation for that I have got to delve into Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism. Or I would do Tolkien's construction tale from the Silmarillian, that is extra musical. Everything is comprised of religious vigour. But for persons to have the revel in of loose will, the Supernal Light ought to be veiled. So Kabbalah teaches that The Creator created a style of donut gap inside the omnipresence, and there are 10 layers of veils which protect the Light, till right here on the lowest stage of vibration/frequency, we have now the bodily universe, in which E=Mc2 and religious vigour turns into the forms of vigour we will degree and its lowest stage is topic. So right here within the area of area/time, persons have a drawback. We are religious beings encased in animal our bodies; we're stardust and Power, on mortgage from God. Which is going to exhibit that The Creator has a humorousness! HA! Unfortunately, now not being sure by way of time, present external the process in timelessness (mistranslated as 'eternity') The Creator can hooked up a 30 12 months funny story on persons. Which style of messes up our heads..... We take this Matrix all too critically. We have this factor known as Ego, a way of self, imagining that we're separate entities with our possess identification. We always search to reunite the 2 "aspects" of male/feminine, however that in no way turns out to paintings good.... All of the above generally explains why alcohol used to be invented. to fix damaged hearts.

Schizophrenics do not necessarily hear voices. It literally means split from reality. Many types of Mental illness' do involve voices. Some can be treated successfully with drugs others not so much.People in the Mental Health field work to educate the public about the difference.Believe me,it's a peeve of theirs. How the jump from conscience to mental illness is made. I'll never know.If you are a good person with a conscience give yourself the credit. Not a spirit guide.

'Break a leg' does not literally mean to go and break your physical bone. The same with 'inner voice'. It is a metaphorical reference.

One can sometimes hear yourself think. Some people read by 'sounding' the words in their head - it's the same thing. Our ancient ancestors, barely out of the trees, did not know how or what to make if this. 'Inner voice' sounded like a good way to describe it. I would not term the inner voice a feeling, as feelings are emotional. It is an internal thought mechanism.

With Dementia and other forms of mental illnesses, like Schizophrenia, the patient hears a voice externally, not in their head.

What I meant by that answer Denie is that our experience, knowledge, understanding of the world and many other factors guide us in our decisions, much as your conscience does.

You can talk to yourself internally and be just fine. The real concerns arise when you have a disconnection where two distinct voices--both independently conscious--are conducting a conversation.

Of course it's your guide trying to help you learn your lesson. Some people are labeled because others are disbelievers. Wasn't Columbus labeled nuts because he thought the world was round? There are alot of examples of that.Check out my website at www.goodpsychicmedium.com

1) Conscious or Consciousness?
Well, your consicous is a perception arrived through obvervation. I think you may be referring to Consiousness, which is a state of being, to whatever degree the person has evolved. Then there is sub-consiousness, which we are rarely aware of, but can be if we put our attention to our inner workings & processes. I would recommend that rather than listening to either, you listen to your inner-knowing. There is a part of you which is connected to the Divine, as strange as that may seem... and that is your intuition. It is the 'steering wheel of your life', not your mind, which draws conclusions based upon little bits of information grasped by the past, and therefore, cannot possibly be correct all of the time because everything is in constant state of flux. But your intuition, goes beyond the present, past & future. It is that which is constant, it is a link that tells you what is, what is not.. innately, all the time. This is why you may say, or hear, "I THOUGHT SO!" "I had a feeling"...
2) Schizophrenia is the defragmentation, departicalization of the soul into different groupings. When you incarnate, well, your soul is composed of many energy particles... spirit particles is the best description. To make a very long story short, when there is a great deal of stress, or chemical imbalance (which is caused by many factors), and other epidemiological factors, these particles divide and regroup.
3) People hear voices because they are more open to receiving the realm beyond the 3rd dimension, where spirits reside. They are therefore more succeptible to 'conversations' with invisible ones. They are not crazy, they are not understood and need what is called a 'spirit releasement', to detach the spirit entity from the persons electromagnetic field, where they influence them and become sort of 'co-dependant' with them. In many cases, this is where you hear murderers say "I heard a voice that told me to do it". They are victims of things they know nothing about. Then there are those who hear the voices of angels and other Master Teachers who are by our side to help us understand and expand our awareness, or simply to accompany and assist us through our life's journey. Children are far more succeptible to these Spirits since they are closer to Source than we are, having incarnated a shorter time than we, who have been programmed by society.
4) I believe it is ignorant for us to deny our children the right to grow passed our judgments and lack of understanding, and that they should be encouraged to discuss their experiences with 'the other side', imaginary friends, and whatever 'voices' they may hear. More often than not, we all do not 'hear' voices, but receive 'impressions', that is, ideas, or impulses as to what to do. This is the way our Guides in Spirit express their teachership and love.

No, it's just me. Sorry if that sounds boring. I don't actually hear voices in my head telling me that it's wrong to steal stuff - I just know that. Schizos actually hear voices, as if someone were talking to them. It's a paranoid delusion, not a thought process. There's a difference.
