Here in New Mexico you only have to Register a gun if you buy it from a gun dealer.
You still have the right to carry a side arm on you side as long as it can be seen.
You can not carry it into a bar, bank, court house and several other places,
You do not have to have a permit unless you carry it concealed.
I still carry mine once in a while. Just because I can

In Missouri when you buy a gun at a show - it must be registered within 5 days. (The people at the gun show have to report all sales to the Police Dept). And if you want a permit to carry the rules are very tough and it is very expensive. Little room in this State for loopholes!!!!!!!!! CJ

I've actually always wondered about this also. I don't believe it is a myth but I believe that lawmakers have been closing these loopholes somewhat.
I do know that if someone who was not legally allowed to own a firearm (felons) purchased one at a gun show, they would still be breaking the law by possessing it no matter where it was purchased from.

A year ago this wealthy man with rental property and was the "Citizen of the Year" an all-round good citizen rented a house to these girls that wouldn't pay their rent. They wrote graffiti all over the house about him being gay and in the newspaper! He went 6 blocks to a pawn shop and bought a gun and the pawn shop owner loaded it for him and he walked into the cafe where the renter worked and shot her dead!!! I don't know about loopholes but we all thought the pawn shop owner should have been prosecuted and wasn't!!! The "Citizen of the Year" is in prison for murder!!!!

THERE IS A LOOPHOLE FOR EVERYTHING. BUT THE GUN SHOW PERSON WHO SELLS A GUN AND IS NOT A REGISTERED DEALER IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT GUN AFTER IT LEAVES THEIR POSSESSION.
ALL GUNS MUST BE REGISTERED AND A FILE OF ALL SALES IS LOGGED AT EACH GUN SHOW. WEATHER A COLLECTORS GUN OR A DEALERS GUN. SALES ARE DOCUMENTED BY ALL.

Here in Canada only law enforcement and target shooters , collectors with registration are "allowed" to carry or own guns. Every day we hear of someone being shot. My husband always says ,when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

If you follow the law there are no loopholes.
If you choose not to follow the law, then, like any other unenforced law, it is meaningless.
IMO far too much emphasis is placed on the inanimate object and far too little on the perpetrator.

> Michael Bloomberg and Mayors Against Illegal Guns work to eliminate LAWFUL gun ownership. > No "gun show loophole" exists. > YOU see Al-Qaeda as authoritative. > The letters "AK" have magical powers to frighten the bat-crap out of YOU. > Gun sales at gun shows are subject to EXACTLY the same laws as sales anywhere else. > You needn't even be ACCUSED of a crime to be "on the terrorist no-fly list."
