It says he vetoed a bill which would extend the benefits of a program designed to help the children of working poor families to those in which the household income can be as high as $83,000 a year. I think it's a bit much to offer free health care to children in families which might be rich enough to fall under the Minimum Alternative Tax designed to make sure the rich pay some taxes.
You see, I did something the reporter didn't do. I read the bill the President vetoed!

You probably only read the headline. What you missed is that the bill's intent is to move children with private insurance onto government insurance. The bill also wouldn't take care of poor children first, and would allow adults. Ask yourself this: how can a bill aimed at giving adults health insurance be considered a children's health care bill?

And let's not forget about Medicaid (AKA universal health care).

HMO's are supporting the Repulicans and children have no right to a healthy life besides they don't vote.
