Was anyone else shocked to find out Tom Brokaw has a special that just came out?

I thought he died from cancer a few years ago. I must have been thinking of peter jennings huh. I guess I just assumed since I was not seeing Tom Brokaw every night it meant he was either fired or dead that must not be the case.

Retirement is allowed. Tom has a best-selling book on 1968, so a tv special was a natural companion.
