I doubt he just woke up one morning and decided he didn't love her anymore. These things evolve gradually. People change. There were probably a lot of things going on behind the scenes that you couldn't have known about that made them grow apart. It's a shame that some relationships end up this way, but on the other hand, people are individuals, and even in a relationship which was once loving they can have different long-term goals and interests that separate them. They're both adults and able to make their own decisions, and if they both feel that this is what's best for them, as sad as it may be to see a relationship that lasted that long end, it may be a better choice than staying together in a relationship without love.

Some people get together really young. When you're with the same person for years and didn't really get to experience dating or other people, you just kind of die out. I married young, 18 & sometimes I think about how much better things would be if I would have waited & experienced a lot more.

You can't, but it sure seems easy to surplant and replace, just like everything else in life. We've become a society of disposablity; just replacing things rather than trying to make them right. Dog died? Adopt another one. House burned down? Buy another one. Wife left you? You'll find someone else. It's sickening to be a part of.
