Can i shrink this hoodie?

well i ordered this hoodie and its a size medium but i should of gotten a size small, well any its made of 50 percent polyester and 50% cotton can i shrink it in the dryer if i put it in there for like 5 hours? the lenght of the hoodie is fine but its real poofy and wide. if so how what should i do if i cant take it back?

It isn't likely to shrink.

You could try washing the hoodie in hot water and then drying it on high, HOWEVER this may cause it to shrink in length as well. I doubt that drying it for more than regular would cause it to shrink more, but it would be bad for the fabric.
