At home it would be the smell of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. At my grandparents, the smell of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and coffee. I loved staying with my grandparents. They were so much fun and did not make life boring. My step-dad made life at home fun, also.

Lilacs in the rain. Our house was surrounded by big lilac trees. I lived for that week or two every spring when I was a kid.
My mom was a good baker. All those smells destroy me.

Tree sap. Wood siding that needs refinishing. The cold...a certain smell of "cold" at least. It doesn't happen often enough down here.

then, beer..i dont know why...never even drank beer or really any family. but we grew up next door to a bar, and spent alot of time running around there..in the olden days, kids could do that.

Frying latkes. My mom made the best latkes. We actually proved this - one year, at my hebrew school's chanukah dinner, many of the mothers made latkes - my mom's were eaten so fast it wasn't funny, while a lot of the other latkes were left over at the end of the dinner.
