Celsius and Farenheit are the most common. Sometimes for extreme temperatures they use Kelvin but it's not that common.

There are lots of formula that use Absolute Temperature. The SI unit for absolute temperature is Kelvin or K. One degree K is the same size as one degree C. In English units, Rankine is the absolut temperature and one degree R is the same as 1 degree F.
