My Man And I Have Been Together For A Little Over 2 Years Now, And We Are Thinking About Marriage. How Long Should We Wait To Get Married After We Are Engaged?

That is a personal preference. People used to be engaged a little over a year because it takes that long to plan a large wedding and reception. Do what feels right for you.

Knock yourself out. Thirty minutes or so I suppose. Honestly I guess it depends on the wedding you've been dreaming of, honeymoon, personally I'd reccomend saving ten thousand dollars together first. Lets face it working together is what your ultimately moving into and its a good start. Doesn't have to be money but something substantial that has real world value. Then see if you still want to get married. You should get closer but may not. Good Luck and I wish you joy and happiness.

most go about a year or so. i think long engagements are dumb because you know you're going to get married so why not just plan the wedding and do it? i got engaged in april of 2004 and got married the end of dec 2004 it was just long enough to get everything for the wedding together it all up to the person in general. my sister got engaged of oct 2004 and got married in march of 2005 and a friend of mine got engaged in july of 06 nd got married this past july

At least 12 months.

Preparing for a wedding can usually be very stressful and if you don't have a good foundation the marriage will be over before the ink is dry on the license.

I think its recommended to wait at least 6 months.

Our engagement was 6 months... long enough to plan a wedding....
