xbox 360 three red lights, how to fix?

Question

are there any other ways to fix the three red lights other than:
1. buy the manual
2. wait for it to fix on its own
3. do the towel trick?

That is what you call "the ring of death" my friend. It's a problem with the actual 360 that you can't fix by yourself. It's under warranty since so many people have had the same problem. Call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX. It's the official xbox help line. They will help you send it in and get it fixed free of charge. Good luck!

To fix it do this..
1) Remove your hard drive and/or memory units.

2) Run “Initial Setup” under the system blade.

3) Decline inserting HDD or memory unit when prompted.

4) Sync your controller and pop in a game.

It might save your xbox 360 a repair return.

I feel your pain - we've had our 360 for TWO WEEKS and have had the red light problem every time we first initialize since Day 3. Air duster has worked, and just restarting. I'm considering exchanging it, though from all I've read here and from other sites online this light problem is ridiculously common.

1) first off you got the "rrod"
2)get a ps3 and sell your 360
3)you never have to repair again.
