Because he has the Pakistani army behind him. The U.S. can't get rid of him as long as it gives huge sums of money to Pakistan which goes to the Army... and if Musharraf ever becomes more of a liability than an asset to the army... he will disappear, never to be heard from again.

Bush supports Musharraf because he has been harboring Bin Laden since Bush let him go in Tora Bora.

Bush is giving him money to keep him quiet.

There are a lot of people that think that Musharraf was the "bag man" for 9/11-delivering the money to the terrorists.

Look it up.

Because our foreign policy makes no sense. We go with whoever openly says they support us whether they're dictators, crooks, thieves, etc...

example: Ngo Dinh Diem of South Vietnam. He was a crook and a half, yet because he simply says "Communism Bad" he gets US support.

Iran - The Shah was another schmuck that gave the US good head. Never mind that he tortured and killed his subjects to keep order. That while the US keeps spouting off about how we're the good guys and fight against injustice, the Iranians are thinking "yeah right..."

Iraq - So the Iranians boot the Shah and let the ayatollah's take over. We need someone to fight them... Someone close... so they choose a two bit thug named Saddam. He seems to be in command of his people. That's cool, as long as he hates Iran, he's good enough. Let's give him some money and weapons to fight them. BTW Iran sees the bombs are made in the US and this pisses them off. Which explains why these IEDs in Iraq (circa present day) for some reason seem to be made in ... Iran... ?

Our support of Musharraf will have consequences we can't even imagine yet. Just wait...

If not Musharraf, then who ? When you ask a question, you should be ready to rebut and apparently your other questions say you are not conversant with the subject. If so, why did you ask the question?

Bush buys friends, even if they can't be trusted. I offerred to set up a muslim country and show support for Bush for only 150,000,000. I guess that was too mush, they only offerred 75,000,000. I am holding out for the full amount.
