On my criminal record that I looked up online it lists 9 offences ranging from speeding to possession of marijuana. In all my record shows 7 misdemeanors but I was dismissed from all of them. Can these dismissed offenses be used as a reason not to hire me?

A company does not have to have any reason to hire or fire you. The only things they cannot base their decisions on would be race/handicap/religion/ethnicity.

So the answer is yes.

Fired no, unless you lied on your application or interview. Not hired yes, the only things that an employer is prohibited from hiring discrimination is race, sex, and/or religion. I certainly wouldn't hire you if I had an equally qualified applicant with-out the criminal background.
