I don't know about you but I am 58 years old and as much as I try to act young, I realize that I'm not.. It takes me an hour and a half to watch `60 'minutes.[That's a joke.]
When I was young I said that I would never get fat, and I didn't.
I didn't know what senile meant , I do now, but sometimes I forget . I said that I would never get old and sit in a rocking chair. Now I set in front of the wood stove in one and I enjoy it.
I enjoy talking about the things that I used to do when I was younger and listening to my friends tell their stories too. So my life is not meaningless to me. I hope when you get older that yours isn't either.

The meaning of life?--ahh, just another question the mind wishes to answer and conquer
I believe there is not a distinct answer to such question, for it various upon person and I also dont think lives are meaningless--everything has meaning one way or another
Yes, we are all given the same "life." but how we live it, or make of it, is different than another.
So, to me, I believe the meaning of life is for us to explore the beautiful gift of life--I mean, we are only given it once, so it is a very precious gift.
It is a time for self-discovery, and to help those around us who might need a little push in life, for the value it truly is, is not as evident to them
We are all given a purpose, and to find that purpose, and fulfill it....well, that opportunity becomes present
So the meaning of life?(to me?)::
Figure out what we are meant to do in this world, and fulfill it to the best of our ability.
Leave a positive mark on the world for future generations to come.
Explore--Learn--Teach--Discover
Love--Hope--Dream--Achieve

What would it really matter if it was all meaningless.. If there was a white light and a heaven.. wouldn't we NOT give a care in the world about the struggles we had here? Would we have learned anything from the proverbial lessons taught here?
And if we go into another life, and don't have the foggiest idea about what we supposedly learned.. what does it matter either way?
The meaning of life.. is to dismiss there is meaning to anything truly and take it at face value for what it really is..
It's life..

There is something in our human nature that requires our lives to have meaning. Without meaning our lives have no worth.
"There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." -Albert Camus
We are driven to seek meaning at the threat of suicide or mental breakdown.
Meaning of life and purpose of life require God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Russell was a noted 20th century mathematician, philosopher, Nobel laureate. He was also an atheist but he was honest enough to know that without God life has no purpose and without purpose, no meaning.
Those who reject God also reject real purpose and meaning. However, they must still invent something to live for. They then use their power of self deception to elevate those inventions to the status of purpose.
I think God must have put our intense need for meaning into our human nature to point us to seek Him. So either seeking God is our purpose or there is neither purpose nor meaning.

The meaning of life is to fulfill our full potential for developing, experiencing and providing love, joy, peace, kindness and wisdom as our contribution to the human experience. We do this in imitation of those same gifts freely given to us by God. Through the practice of these virtues we expand our knowledge of our shared consciousness with God.

We want to have a good quality of life, and have an enjoyable life. Who knows, maybe our deeds will eventually lead us to heaven (if there is one) ;P

But seriously...
"To experience" would be the shared meaning, and from there we make up our own.
