it's a dislocated (right\left) patella you need to go to the hospital to make sure you put it back in place, how do I know this? because I dislcoated my right patella in april, if you poped it in quick enough it should be fine go to docs to make sure hope ur ok!

I was in an auto accident and slammed my knee against the dashboard....it was swollen but in relation to my other injuries, wasnt all that painful so it got ignored for awhile while I was being treated for spinal and head injuries. Well a few weeks down the line, we find out that I tore a ligament in the knee and had to have it surgically repaired. So my advice - see an orthopaedic doctor - just in case!

Well im not a doctor nor am I qualified to make accesments so you shouldn't take any merit in my responce and should consult a doctor. Now for my responce. If you have full mobility in your knee and your joints are secure, if there is not severe pain then perhaps it will be fine and need no further attention besides ice, heat, bengay, anti-inflamatories and so fourth. It takes a while for an injury to set in and see how bad it is. Go to a doc and be well. adios

It could be the nerves in your knee. The same thing happens to me a lot, and I use muscle rub to ease it. It could also be a cramp that occurs when you bend your knee. If you relax your leg an often massage the muscles around your knee, it could ease it a lot more until it stops.

the popping sound is your ligament snapping,, sounds like (sorry for the pun) you stretched your anterior ligament really good.. aspirin and cold compress for a few days if it is still painfull then head to the doctor..if you are unable to stand or walk then go to the ER now for an xray...

It sounds like it could be a simple or a partial fracture of the patella.
