Do you feel like you should be able to explain why you like a rapper? Or do you feel like that's being a nerd about it, you should be free to like whatever grabs your ear and not have people challenge you?

you should do both.
i can explain why i enjoy some rappers and others i just like listening to it and have no real reason why i enjoy it.

I don't think so. I like Sick Rick, I like Q Tip, I like whoever. I shouldn't have to explain why;however, I think if someone has no idea why someone would like a certain Rapper, it would be good to explain (not too in depth), so they can have some sort of understanding, even though that's probably not the case. I asked a question about why lil Wanye fans like him, and I understood. I also find it interesting, when you have someone tell you that you shouldn't like a certain Rapper, and they explain why, knowing it's unlikely for your opinion to change.

Yes, I think we should definitely be able to explain our own rappers and show why we like them. That's good for all people because than other people start to listen to it than pretty soon it can become a major thing and change up the whole game. In some instances though it can be bad because the wrong people can mess up a good song. Good question

Well, most people do like certain rappers even if its for the silliest of all reasons...ie (looks)...or some other b.s. reason... I explain myself only when I feel I have to...if not, its whatever..

well there is no rapper that i dont like for no specific reason...if someone asks for my opinion on an artist, i'll give it to them...i have no problem justifying why or why not..and vice versa, every rapper i like; there's a reason why..if someone asks, i have no problem explaining

i dont think a person got to explain why they like a certain artist. if you do, its not nerdy at all. people can ask questions. everybody has a opinion. but i think people should be more open to different artists and different music
