As long as you are lifting the opponents stick. If you turn your stick blade 180 degrees and hold down on the opponents', you could get a call for hooking or obstruction (of the stick). Seen it quite a bit in youth hockey...not so much in the NHL.

y wouldnt you beable to? as long as you dont hold him up for an interfence call (p.s. gotten a couple of them & im the goalie haha) or trip them obously for a tripping call
