The earth can provide food for everyone who lives now. One reason we have world hunger is because of world economy markets. Think if the US would give away rice, just because it's the right thing to do. What would that do the price of rice?

Another reason is due to greed, which is linked to economy and let's not forget power. All have to do with the "dark side" of mankind.

I am sure that if it were up to you or me or any of us average people, there would be no more hunger in the world. But that the solution we would choose would not work for the current governments.

That is a political question that could be solved with economic policy.

The primary cause is, in my opinion, the government/economic systems in place in the nations with the most hunger. Japan has almost no natural resources and a high population concentration. Yet, they have high wealth and a healthy population. Why? Free markets, relatively low corruption, rule of law, etc.

Establish the right to own private property, to do business without the interference of the government, the right to contract, capitalism, and low corruption in starving countries, and I believe you will be amazed at the results.
