Cry for about 5 minutes - then I get ferociously busy. Cleaning, some kind of kick *** exercise like tae bo or running, then something creative (throwing paint on canvas, drawing or sculpting something big, playing music, writing, making a song) and then more exercise, more cleaning like a mini-whirlwind, then more creative, all with lots and lots of music playing non-stop when I am not making music myself - repeat ad nauseum. And yes, I try to get out and talk with my friends too, also probably ad nauseum. And yes, I hug my cats - but I do that whether I'm heartbroken or not because I love them something fierce :)

Yup, a little heartbroken doesn't exist. It's either broken or not!
I hit the Coors, feel awful, hit the Coors again, and go to sleep.

Not a healthy alternative, but I try to make my stomach bigger than my broken heart. It doesn't seem like such a problem by comparison. In the same vein (not healthy), becoming drunk until you simply have to sleep (they call it sleep when it's in a bed - plan ahead) gets me through the times I'd otherwise be grieving. In the end, time heals.

Get off my butt and go to a movie or a ballgame. I have been known to go out of town to a major-league game or two, too. Sure is fun, and I have a lot of good memories that whoever broke my heart didn't get to share...If it's a sports loss, I get over it...after all, it's just a game!

Nothing, just try to get over myself and move on because there is nothing I can do. I try to think about something else, I go to study, listen to music, be in the internet or EAT.
Music really helps.

I usually spend a day or two crying my heart out, then I spend time with family and friends so we can try to pick up the pieces and mend it so I can move forward!!

Endure. That's what I've been doing since my wife's death almost 15 years ago. Drinking and suicide are not an option. What else can one do?

I cry... A LOT. And listen to some mellow music. I get really mushy with my pets too.
