She has been on Enfamil, Gentlease, Prosobee, Similac Alimentum, and now Nutramigen. With all of the other kind she either was spitting it up or acting like she was in pain. She has been on Nutramigen now for a week. She did ok with it at first but now every time after I feed her, she immediatley has a bowel movement. Yesterday she started acting fussy and today was even worse. Someone told me to go but gripe water, so I did and now she is asleep. Has anyone had gas problems with Nutramigen?

Ok STOP CHANGING!! It takes a while for the system to dispose fully of the formula to get the new one into the system.

It takes about a week or longer. My professional mommy of a GASSY GASSY baby is to go back to Gentlease and stick with it. After about a week we noticed a change and then after about 2 can I had a new baby. Until then try the Mylicon (sp) drops and rub her belly!!

Good luck!! I know how hard it is to see your baby suffer with that.

wow...thats like a different formula every week. First, pick one and stick with it for a bit, and see if its not the constant changing that is contributing to the problem. Second, she might just be a gassy baby. my 9 week old is VERY gassy, and is breastfed. After playing with my diet, its nothing I'm eating...its just the way she is. Some babies just have more gas. My advice is to give the gas drops before each feeding (they dont work the way they are supposed to if you give them after..why that information is not on the bottle is beyond me..) and burp every 3-5 minutes. If you get rid of the gas before it can get trapped in the intestines, baby wont be in as much pain. Good luck!

Babies have gas. Its part of being a baby, and everything they do seems painful, especially in the pooping department. And esepcially in the first couple months of life. Beyond that, its totally and completely normal for a baby to poop while or right after a feeding.

5 formulas in 6 weeks means she's barely on any of them long enough to allow the development of bacteria in her gut to adjust to the changes.

Are you doing this in accordance to your doctors orders? If so I would get a new doctor, unless she's forcefully vomiting, or crying uncontrolably all day and night theres no reason to change formula.

Newborns cry and wince and grunt and fart and burp and spit up and complain and fuss. Its just what they do.

I would talk to a professional, and maybe some close mothers who have delt with colic in a proactive way- not just changing up formulas. Theres more that you can do besides changing formula, and a lot of colic can be calmed by changing the way you handle things in her daily life and routine.

Hey, my son was exactly like that he never slept always acted like he was in pain, changed formula's so many times. I put him on gripe water and it worked for a little while then nothing. my son is 6 months old now and he still gets like that sometimes. he spits up all the time to this day but he is teething so its normal now lol. i found that helped my son is i held him with his head in my elbow and his body laying over my arm, and patted him firmly but no to hard and the gas released. and also when she cries and tightens her tummy push her legs up into her tummy and she will fart like crazy, its the best feeling for them. i tried all the different remidies there was and nothing seem to help i just came across that in my crazy hours when i had had enough of it all. give that ago, never know might just work for your little girl.

STICK TO ONE FORMULA YOU HAVE TO STAY WITH ONE TYPE FOR AT LEAST 2MONTHS TO SEE A CHANGE. ITS PROBABLY ALL THE CHANGING OF FORMULAS THAT HAS HER SYSTEM OUT OF WACK BUT maybe it is not the formula and your baby has some type of acid reflux. get it checked out with a doctor.......
it isnt unusual for babies to spit up unless its severe spitting up........ maybe she has colic??
try giving her a baby massage>> that will definetly get rid of gas and fussiness.
also are you making sure you feed her while she is being held upright? and then burped? she has to burp everytime after feeding even if it takes an hour for her to finally burp and then stay patting her back for awhile... soon the gassiness will dissappear> not immedietly of course but definetly with repitition it will.
try not laying her down immedietly after feeding her and keep her upright for awhile also.....
this will help
