She's the 40-something mother who drove a mentally unstable 13-year-old neighbor girl to suicide by creating a fictitious friend on-line and then turning on her.

If the law won't step in, I'm not sure what an appropriate punishment for Lori Drew is. BTW, her story has changed several times since the media got this. Her initial report to the police was that she set up the profile and sent the messages. She is now trying to back track to cover her a ss in the pending civil suit. That is what just keeps people so mad - she just keeps justifying her actions, and now lying.

Perhaps she should do some community service in a morgue, cleaning the bodies of suicides. Maybe that would break through her egocentricity.

Ugggh. Can't believe what happened and that woman got off scott-free.
But the mention of draino reminds me of this 5 year old girl who lived in my town and her step-father had punished her(she was wetting her pants and stuff) by making the girl drink draino and pouring it over the girl's groin area. The step-father was jailed and the girl now has to have an operation every 2 weeks to re-open her throat so she can eat and drink and she's also having alot of plastic surgery to try and repair her groin injuries.

Well it was her daughter that created the profile and caused the girl to kill herself, but if the mother knew what she was doing and didn't stop it then yes, she should be held responsible, but I'm not sure in what way.
