I'm not the greatest at chemistry. How much of a problem would this be?

If your only exposure to chemistry was a high school course, then don't feel intimidated by it. High school chemistry sucks because it's taught superficially, attempts to cover too much information and you are forced into rote memorization, which is the poorest way to learn anything. Very few people actually understand high school chemistry.

You'll find that the college level courses are very different. The professors are usually better qualified, very into teaching and know how to present the information in such a manner that one day builds on the previous day's information. As a result, you actually begin to understand what the heck is being written on the board!

Chemistry isn't difficult if you are taught in a manner that lets you understand it. But a poor isntructor makes it a very difficult thing to comprehend on your own.

Best of luck!

As much as I want you to follow your dreams and become a doctor, I have to tell you that there is a ton of chemistry in med school, pre-med studies especially. I had wanted to be a doctor, but didn't want to do the school work for it. Sometimes people think, "yeah I'd like to be a doctor" only based off of what they see when they go for a visit, and don't really think about what it takes to make the big bucks! If you are truly passionate and dedicated, just do it. Study hard and try to get some sleep!

Yes, you should major in chemistry or biology or at least take a number of courses, plus there is more in medical school. You need to get tutoring and get up to speed if you want to go to medical school.
