A couple months ago I got a thin line down my lap top screen, then another one... and another... and now its up to about 9 random skinny lines. So obviously its slowly going to be covered in lines making it very difficult if not impossible to see the screen. What may have caused this and how can I fix it?

The only fix for that is to change the LCD screen. There's no program or update for it, it is a physical failure on the LCD screen itself.

It sounds like its a part of your monitor basically the video card feeds your screen and the computer monitor the problem is the video from the video card to the screen there is wires and if 1 gets pinched it might cause that from what I am reading you might be better off just getting a bigger monitor to plug in you lose mobility but it would cost allot to get it fixed and there is no guarantee that it will stay fixed.

Your screen may be burnt out from leaving your screen on all of the time, or your graphics card is fried and broken. Try hooking up a moniter to see if it's your monitor, and if you still see the lines, it is probably your graphics card.

The monitor is dying. It may be time for a new laptop. Some models are going for as little as $500 now.

This usually happens to dell computers, just drop it on the ground and take it back.

I don't know what caused this but you can try reinstalling the monitor drivers.
