I have a friend from school days whom my parents think 'unusual'. We lost contacts for years but now we are working in the same city and become close again. We have many things in common and she is fun to be with, so I don't mind her man-like appearance (which, among other things, still worries my parents).

I notice that she calls me everyday to talk about small things and wants me to do the same -- which I can't always do. When I don't, she is very upset and says very rude words. She is also mad if I can only see her for limited time since I have other things to do. But after that we get along well again.

Once I told her about the guy who had a crush on me, and she was in bad mood for days (was it because of it or not, I didn't know. She refused to tell me what happened). I was surprised with her silent reaction because other girls usually find it worth talking about for a while.

Is there really something unusual about her, or am I just influenced by my parents' opinion?

At the very least, she is kind of clingy and controlling, but she could also be lesbian and could also attracted to you. This is only a problem if she is going to be upset by some kind of unrequited love - but how do you tell the difference between someone who is controlling and possessive and someone who is jealous and controlling? I think at least you need to talk to her about having a level of respect for your time and that you can't be available as much as she seems to want you to - so she can be understanding, or she needs another friend to talk to so you can have some time on your own now and then. That is a fair way to put things, since she is being rude now. If she gets super upset, she might have been hoping there was something more going to happen. But she might just be lonely and maybe lesbian or not and maybe interested in you or not - the main issue is whether she can show you a little respect and cut you some slack on the daily communications. Anything else will show in its own time.

Wow! that's really strange! Depend if you like her or not, if not then just ignore her. But if you do like her (as a friend) care of her feelings too, even if she is gay(not to be offensive). You have to accept the way they are, even if they really are in love with you or something... my point is that she may be a little eerie and unusual. Probably she's in a bad mood of something eles. Just keep asking her what's happening and care for her more.
P.S. About the thing where girls talk about when they find out someone has a crush on their friend. That is sooooooo true! I could go on talking about it for a week. Anyways, good luck with your little problem.

I can't say there isnt' something a little bit suspicious about her, but at the same time it's not a good idea to jump to conclusions. I think you should try bringing up the subject, but don't ask her right out if she is gay. Just kind of see what she does when you talk about it, and let her know that she has your support.

You won't know unless she tells you. If it matters that much, ask her. If she wants you to know, she'll tell you.

Trust your intuitions and what they are telling you.
