I just started a club volleyball team and today at practice my foot really started hurting. My right foot on the right side. Whenever I walk I get a shooting pain. What do you think it is?It does not appear to be swollen. Should I go see a doctor?

Yes, please consult with a doctor for a proper examination.

I agree with the first responce, you should go into a doctor and have it checked. More so if you have no financial reasons not to and have medical. If you have financial reasons not to and don't have medical you should look into a low budget clinic or sorts. Now for my guess of what it might be that you should take no merit in since im not a doctor nor am I good with guessing on medical matters. From personal experienve my foot aggreviates if I don't stretch it, I have a weak foot and the arch starts hurting. You might of aggreviated a nerve or pulled a muscle in your foot or both. If your not use to jumping around and didn't stretch it then that might be the reason. in which ibuprofen, ice packs, heating pad, bengay, and such might help. well go see a doc. hoppe you get feeling better, adios

It sounds like you may have some tendonitis in your foot, but without an examination and x-rays it's hard to say. I'd recommend you go see your nearest podiatrist for an evaluation. You may need to rest the foot for a week or so, ice it, and may need to be fitted with an orthotic to help support your feet better in sport activities and normal walking. Hope this helps!

It could just be your shoes. Try some new sneakers.
