Only if he's got vacation time to cover it. Or if he has a very sympathetic employer. Otherwise he is not entitled to any kind of paid leave.

In Australia (generally, there will be exceptions) the father is entitled to 2 weeks paid paternity leave and up to twelve months unpaid paternity leave. This is only if the father has been employed for 12months or more with that company and they are full time.

If your partner is on a work place agreement he will have to check his contract.

He could always take family leave (unpaid) I think most companies will give a minimum of 3 days per year. Ask the boss is the best idea. (Chuck a few days of sickies)

No, sorry. I don't believe any states offer paid leave for new fathers. They are covered by FMLA if their employer meets the qualifications and he has been employed for at least 12 months. Does he have any vacation or sick time built up? He could use that.
