Do you think John Morrison would be a main eventer if Benoit wouldn't of died?

it was scheduled Benoit vs Punk for Vengeance and Benoit didn't show so they went with Johnny Nitro. (at the time)

What are your opinions?

No If Benoit would have been alive then Benoit would have won that match and instead of Morrison winning the ECW title it would have been Benoit which I would have liked better.

Vince once said Benoit was to help develop the young talents, Punk and Morrison are similar {my notation relates to their "one on one" matches} but Morrison needs to be half a tag-team, now and for a while!
Benoit would have developed Punk faster than he has gotten so far!
Morrison is no Val Venus, he needs a better gimmick!
Punk needs to toast a beer with Austin, to reduce the strait-laced persona, then give him time to develop!
Tag-team Morrison with a tried and true, like Jennette or a Hardy, long term feuding against Miz with Balls!

Well, the thing with that is that if Benoit had went to the pay-per-view and all of the madness hadn't happened, Benoit would have taken the belt. However, Morrison has a lot of potential in and out of the ring. It might have been like Randy Orton and have taken a little while longer, but he would have been at the level that he is now.

I think he would probably have gained popularity on ECW if and only if he still got his gimmick changed. Benoit would have been the top main eventer though and if he hadn't passed away I do not think Morrison would be as big as he is today on ECW. Benoit would have won the title that night and Morrison might not have even gotten into the title picture just yet.

Wow, I've actually thought of this before. I think Nitro was in a great place on RAW as the IC champion, and his ability and character was building rapidly with his feud against Jeff Hardy.

I think that Vengeance sped up his push by a few years.

P.S.
To anyone who doubts that he was good enough to be the champ, watch his last match as ECW champ against CM Punk. Then compare it to the matches the SD and RAW champions had at the time.

Not as quickly as he did. They didn't want CM Punk to win the title at that point and were going to give it to Benoit and have Punk win it later. Morrison would have worked his way up in a different way.

Nope.

I believe John Morrison would've still been Nitro on RAW or SD!, doing tag team matches. John Morrison/Nitro would never have been a singles champion if Benoit was still alive.

Not right now tbh.Morrison was bumped down to ECW to up his game &work on his skills. He had the raw potential to be a main-eventer.But he needed work on the skills & especially his mic work & getting over with fans.
He's still on ECW with Miz as tags champs still working on his schtick.Plus he's getting a variety of matches & styles in the Tags division. He's maybe not over so much with fans even as heel.So i figure it's best he stays there for the moment.
He has the raw talent. It just needs grooming.

in my opinion, i know this is really bad to say but i thing the Chris beniot case was the best thing that ever happend to the wwe because now they have stricter drug testing and they are trying to avoid serious injuries. and i do think that that johnny nitro would be where he is today if beniot was still with us and won the ecw title because the wwe always picks the lamest superstars and brings them to the top. they have no idea what talent is when they see it.

a brilliant *** head of John Cena. because of the fact thats what it shows. LOL i does no longer doubt it in the event that they do make yet another Superman action picture starring John Cena. The WWE will attempt to sell something and plus there working out of genuine wrestling.
