LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee had a hand in twice as many pardons and commutations as his three predecessors combined.

I was just starting to warm up to Huckabee until the rapist parole story.

He said that it's too bad that the families were hurt because the "system failed" instead of coming out and firmly condemning his past misjudgment. How would he feel if someone fed him that line of BS?

For now, I'm off the Huckabee bus.

I don't have the time to look at the specifics of all 1,033 pardons, but I will say this. . .

The whole pardon system is a joke. Why should a President who was not involved in the case have the power to undo what a prosecutor, judge and jury spent days, weeks or months investigating? If Pythagoras was President, you could count the number of pardons issued on one hand and still have fingers left over.

It does matter. In this era of Islamic fundamentalism, we need a strong president who isn't afraid of taking action. Huckabee as governor of a state pardoned criminals even a serial rapist. He is soft, he didn't make his state safer. What makes you think he would make the country safer? His record shows that he is very lax with security issues.

Absolutely. I think there are some that have earned a pardon or have paid the minimum price for what they did but that many?? No way.he is much to liberal on that issue.

I like Huckabee, but the issue of pardons and his stand on the illegals won't get my vote. I vote Romney.

Most definitely. I don't even like the President's ability to grant pardons.
