This year is my third worst Christmas. My first was when I was really little and my brother died in an accident just days before Christmas. My second worst was three years ago when I went into premature labor very early Christmas morning. I spent all day Christmas flat on my back three hours from home while the doctors were trying to stop my labor. Early the next morning I gave birth to a little boy who weighed 1lb 8oz and was only 12 inches long.

This year we are really bad off financially. We only have just a few gifts under the tree. Then less than a week ago the bank forclosed on our house. So now we have to save all our money to pay for a move. There wont be much more left over for Christmas.

Let's see, I'm 49 -- and no this isn't the WORST -- although I've been laid off for three months and won't get a full check until after Christmas. But my son is in the service and he's coming home. I told him this year is all about love and family ....... we've had many many Christmas' without gifts and such -- you sort of learn the TRUE meaning of the holiday. Unfortunately, a TON of people in the USA are out of work and losing their homes. I've lived like that for YEARS.

We don't even celebrate it.. so I don't think there is any possiblity that it could be worse this year.
I mean, washing the car on a freezing morning when you know there are millions of other ppl ur age getting pressies and having a warm day?
I suppose if you don't expect anything, and you just are used to treating it like a normal day, you can't be let down.
Sorry if your Christmas is looking bleak... but don't worry, we're all here (having a terrible time too!)

No. This year is seeming to become a pretty good Christmas. It's the first Christmas that me and my boyfriend are living together in our first apartment together and even though I made myself broke spending too much money this year, at least in my family everyone will have a decent Christmas.

I hope things become better for you. I'm sure your Christmas won't be that bad.

Its just a season that people put way too much stock into. Why would it matter during what time of the year you're having a bad time. A bad time is a bad time regardless. Don't let your expectations get the best of you. There's no natural law stating that during special occasions you won't have bad luck. In fact, in most cases bad luck tends to be attracted to the moments we put the most energy into because people like to complicate their individual situations and emulate an often unattainable reality. When you put that much pressure on yourself to have a good time there's no doubt you'll have a crummy one.

Mine is looking to be sad and happy its the first Christmas after my divorce so it sad but its also the first Christmas that Ive be with my mom in about 11yrs so its happy too. You have to take the good with the bad or you will never know how good the good is if that makes any sense.

No, for the first time in about 3 years I am going home for Christmas! I can't wait, I'm so excited to just be able to see my family.

I've had "horrible christmases." I was on duty in Military during an ice storm and completely alone. I was without my family stranded on desert alone. I was without money to buy my kids presents. I was alone the year my dad died and I had no one. So I sat alone. And I got thru it. Been thru Financial, seperation, Illness and other things that kept me from being with Anyone that gave a hoot, but now I know I survived and sometimes life just sucks. Hang in there.((HUGS))

It's been really hard for me to get excited about Christmas this year. I'm ahead of schedule as far as my gifts and everything goes, but for some reason I just can't get into it. Maybe once it gets closer and all the get-togethers start happening, I'll feel better about it. I always get excited seeing people's reactions to opening their gifts. Maybe that'll help.

I hope yours gets better as well!
