I was walking to the water fountain, and the 'clerks' in the lunchroom were singing Rapper's Delight. I came in and started doing that second verse that no one knows.("now what you hear is not a test...") and they were real angry at me for knowing it. Saying things like "thats our hip hop, not your hip hop. your hip hop is wack."
so my question is does a generation have any special entitlement to their music because of when it was released?

Man dont sweat it...Im grown and I feel as if the ish from 92-2000 was like the greatest stuff ever...but its just my opinion...Back when I was younger people criticized rap music so much that it was ridiculous....Everyone thinks that they era that they grew up in was the best are...
You know the old Wu-Tang song..."Can it be that it was all so simple then"... people always reminisce about the "good old days" even if they werent that good.

anyways i think they have a special connection because they were around when it came out and when hip hop really started. theyve seen the how hip hop was back in the day to what is now. a lot of it being garbage

Wow, the BX. Your school must be so gangster. jk
As for your question:
To a certain extent, since they were actually around when a particular song was new and hot. I guess they feel entitled to it, and I can understand why. They may look at you and say "I've been listening to this song, since you were three years old," or something similar.

I hate that song, it's so painful and irritating to listen to, why is it classic just because it came out a long time ago, just because a song is old doesn't mean it's classic. Who would ever buy that album, it's just terrible.
bring the tthumbs down..
