i'm getting my own cellphone soon, so i've got some questions.
um, i was thinking about the Double-flip Samsung u740. if this doesn't seem like a good idea, what would you suggest?
also, i'm getting it from the people over at Bell.. does this mean that i have to use their provider? or can i choose some other?
because i saw a virgin mobile commercial and it showed something about 4cents per text and 5cents per minute. or are there most likely hidden costs? :/
i would probably just use my phone mostly for text, email and as far as calling goes, maybe just emergency calls. i don't really like talking to my friends about nothing for half an hour or so..

yeah, i'm really new. so i'd appreciate it if you could let me know about the basics when i'm looking for a phone, provider, plan.. etc :/

AND, if you've got a cell, too, maybe you could say what, why and maybe how you decided on what you wanted.

:) thank you.

I'm thinking about the sch u740 too. It looks great and good for texting. But if you rarely make calls i would go for the En V from Verizon. Verizon has the best coverage and the En V has a bigger keyboard than the sch u740. Plus if your into taking pictures the En V has a better camera too.

holy cow! i'm getting my first cell phone this year too, but you really don't like talking about nothing? not me. i talk for hours, so I'm getting a Cingular/AT&T GoPhone, cuz they're way cheaper. No hidden fees, AND 10cents a minute, and for $20, you can get unlimited text for 2 months/60days. So, yeah. And, they have some REALLY cute phones. I suggest Verizon, there plans are cheap, and there cellphones (depending on the phone) are cheap.

There coverage is great! (my opinion)

If your looking for cheap service but good coverage: Verizon

If you looking for cheap service period: AT&T

If your looking for a good service with "OK" coverage: T-Mobil

If your looking for Great coverage with a 15-way radio style: Nextel, and Motorola

(all others are moderate, but I suggest Verizon or Motorola)

ok well to start off with i think you should look at alltel first and at thier txting plans. that is what i have. and depending on how old you are like if you hav a job or wat... but i have the AX86000 from alltel. its amazing and you have internet and also you can listen to your music... like an ipod. well i hope this helped... o and alltel has the ten top friends so when you call them its free and if you call someone else with a alltel plan its free. hope this helped...
