You can use an iron to reheat the wax and get it up. For carpet, you can cut the tips off if you need to.

Use an Ice cube to set the wax up
Scrape off all excess wax with a butter knife
Place a paper towel over the wax
Iron with medium heat over the wax
Replace the paper towel often
This should remove the wax
Good Luck!

Ok, get a cotton towel, an old one you don't mind messing up, or an old t shirt. Get your iron and set it on high, lightly run the iron over the wax, for the carpet. After, use Resolve carpet cleaner to help rid it of the stain. You might have to make a few runs with the iron, constantly turning the cloth. With clothing you can do the same thing, as far as the shoes go, I have no idea.

Hi,
At times like these, it pays to trust the experts. I consulted Good Housekeeping and came across this answer...
"First, wait for the wax to cool, then try to scrape off as much of the hardened drips as you can, using a dull knife. Then place a couple of white paper towels over the remaining wax and run a warm iron over the area. Repeat the process, using clean towels each time, until all the wax is gone. If wax residue remains, apply a bit of dry-cleaning solvent and blot."
iVillage offers similar advice. "Place a paper bag over the wax. Get out your iron and run it over the bag a few times. The heat melts the wax and the bag soaks it up." The site notes that you should use a plain bag as a bag with printing may run into the carpet.
Good luck,
Mike

There is a special liquid that will desolve wax. Try your local candle store.
You could also try putting a towel over the affected area and run a warm iron over it. It should warm up the wax and absorb it into the towel. Use an old towel that you were going to throw away anyway. Not sure how to do that with sneakers.

Try using a hot iron, paper towels and a comb. Place the paper towel over the wax and then iron the spot. When the wax gets warm, comb it out of the carpet. Repeat until the wax is gone. Good luck this is painstaking work

Use ice pack directly over wax to harden wax. Scrape gently with a butter knife and vacuum. May take several times to remove all wax.

place a cloth over the spot and iron it. the heat should melt the wax onto the cloth

Use brown paper, put over wax. Using a hot iron, steam the brown paper so wax soaks in. Repeat til stain gradually disappears.
Hope that helps!

I heard from a Partylite saleswoman that you can put a paper bag flat over the carpet, then iron over it, and the wax will adhere to the paper.
I think the wax will peel off of his clothing and shoes once it dries.
Good luck, and I hope this helps! :)
