The Chinese invented this "technique" where they put an interogatee's head in a vice and set up a water drip 5-10 feet above their head so the drops hit the middle of their forehead...it's imaginatively called: Chinese Water Torcher...so how is this torcher, and waterboarding (euphemistically called "simulating drowning") is still debatable? as bad as waterboarding is, it's probably the tip of the iceberg...

It's T-O-R-T-U-R-E, not "torcher".
But you're right. We shouldn't be debating it or doing it. It probably isn't the worst of what we do either. It's not going to get any better until Bush-Cheney are out of the White House.

There has always been people that are called upon to do the dirty work in society. for example slaughterhouse workers wading in blood to provide the meat that you buy in sanitary Styrofoam trays.
Is water boarding torture? of course,.is it necessary? How would you answer that if someone in your family was going to be beheaded and the person that had the information that could enable you to stop it was refusing to cooperate..
That's why it's still being debated. We have solders sacrifice themselves on the battle field to save others. Sometimes we may have to sacrifice an enemy for the same purpose

I heard today that water boarding hasn't been used since 2003. Thanks to the media leak about this technique and the suspects or whoever, now they no "we" aren't actually gonna drown them so this technique probably will lose some flavor. Although, if people say once Bush is out of the whitehouse this won't happen...please don't try to convince yourself that this technique has never been used when a democrat was in the white house.

Well, it's only torture if you can't separate yourself from the pain or fear you're inflicting on someone else.
Personally, I think it's cruel. Yeah, yeah...I know some of these people have done, or WOULD do... worse to others, but I'm not like them. I don't want to be like them, not to mention that torture does NOT actually make people tell the truth. It makes them say what is required to make the torture cease. It's not effective in the least, and I hate that Americans have done this. I would LIKE to consider us 'above that'.

Okay If your not doing anything wrong who cares - You have nothing to worry about and you wont be subjected to those silly little drops falling on your head!
I'd rather b allive than dead if driping a few drops of water on some smelly muslims head provides info to thwart terrorist attacks.
You are so weak yo should go look for sympathy in Iran and help those poor poor people over there!
O yeah, one more question for you u panzi! Would you rather have your head cut off and filmed on Low Quality VHS and filmed over the world. or would you rather have water drops on your head.
You people are sick - like you want the country to be attacked so you can blame it against Bush. Hes not the greatest but he is 1million times better than the BS babbling of the clintons
I mean c'mon we got attacked in Tansinia + one more embassy over in some **** box country then the us cole and what did bill clinton do ....Um nothing but get a hummer from a fat intern.
Smart'n up these people wantto kill us

There are few people who actually believe waterboarding isn't torture. But some won't publicly admit it because they want to leave it on the table as an interrogation method.

A few years ago Fox News had a hilarious incident. One of their "journalists" claimed that water boarding simply was not as bad as everyone made it out to be and volunteered to have it done to himself to prove that it is not torture. He lasted less than a minute before he really freaked out. It's pretty nasty business... certainly well below what a civilized and advanced nation would do. Besides, if you torture someone, they will tell you anything they think you want to hear. That means more lies, not truth. So it's pretty stupid and dishonorable.

It doesn't matter, both Democrats and Republicans are complicit in this matter.
I assume that's why some folks in our party are attacking people like Nancy P. to go along with President Bush.
