Leagzpi City is as safe as any other city in the Philippines, not counting the areas where extremists are based (Mindanao).

In all of my visits to this city, I have never encountered any troubles while roaming around. And I do walk around a lot when I travel.

It helps that the political situation in the city is stable, with the sitting mayor being one so popular that he has just been re-elected (Mayor Rosal).

You should, however re-think a 3-months holiday. I would spend my three months around the country. You could stay the longest in Leagzpi though, because I feel you have business to do there (and I do not mean business-business).

Legazpi City is safe place to visit and go around at "night" , everywhere you are just see to it you know which places to avoid at night and very late night. Three months stay is not holiday anymore when you talk about Legaspi ., you could go around many times over the whole of Bicol province . Its a very nice place to stay and immerse your self in , go to Mayonb Volcano , Albay also go to the lake Buhi where the smallest fish in the world is found Food and environment is vbery good there. Just also be aware not to go to Bicol when its rainy and typhoon season which is from June to October.Bicol si the entry area for most of our typhoon from Japan or any Asian country. Please just be sure you don't wander where are no entry zone for civilians , we have communist leaning rebels in this area.Be friendly and people there will guide you along , if you are caucasian be sure you watch out for people who take advantage of you being foreigner regarding money .
