I read a great post by someone from the Clinton's camp website to describe why Obama is where he is right now and getting so much attention.
"Sen. Obama is very much a product of the media. They've turned his early speeches into headline news, covered his books as if he's some kind of profit, etc. They've wanted a horse race since the election process started but it hasn't happened. The only state that is too close to call is Iowa and it has always been too close to call since the beginning of the year. ere he is right now."

Media had a feast in exposing Obama because he is a Black. It could not be news if he was White.

Possibly but probably with manipulation by the Democratic Party powers that be. They understand that Hillary is a sure way to lose the election so backed someone with just as little experience but who was more palatable to the American electorate as a whole.
