Its because the Tiger represents a fearless wild man-eating animal, like the teams players. The Magpies are represented by the magpie bird who is only game to swoop from behind on the unwary, just like the teams players.

Tigers don't have a better class of supporters then Collingwood!! And as someone else said, look at COllingwood's president if you're talking money.
Also... there are some stupid comments on here.. .clearly not Australians- the one that has supported Tigers for years but have never heard of Collingwood. And the one that thinks that COllingwood's mascot should be wood! Funny :)

that doesnt mean a thing!
people support clubs for the players in their team, the freebies they give out, the way the team plays, weather the team is winning premierships or winning wooden spoons.
you are wrong, peopl;e dont support teams based on where they live or how much money they have in their pocket nor what type of house they live in (all relates to 'class')
Look at who the president of collingwood is!!! he was the boss of one of the top networks in australia and had links to Australia richest men and is up their himself!
THINK your questions through next time. I support Brisbane and Collingwood, I have a ae who supports Richmond and I will tell you now that my family is better off than them at this current time!

Well if Richmond supporters are a better class of people than Collingwood then you're a long way behind the Dee's, if we look at it from you're logic, but then again it doesn't seem that your logic is sound.
