Event Ticket Sales Law in Ontario?

Question

I bid on a pair of concert tickets from ebay and won them. I paid double the face value of the ticket, plus shipping. My boyfriend informed me that this is illegal... is this true?
Also, when I got the tickets, it was not as the seller described it on ebay. It was a totally different row!
What actions should I take?

Yes, it is indeed illegal. It's called Scalping. You really can't do much about it. Just report the individual to the cops, etc. You'll have to give them your records of the transaction. But, not much will come out of it.
