I know that you should be able to see the hb at 6 weeks, but I have not seen mine at 7.5 weeks, they want to diagnose me with a miscarriage, but my sac and fetus grew since the prior week, so is there a chance that s/he is just too small yet to see a hb, or is this the end of the road. I have another scan next week to make double sure, but was hoping for some miracle stories.

Sometimes you don't see the heartbeat until 10 weeks or later. If the sac and the fetus grew, I would not get a D&C I would wait and get your blood tested. Your HCG should be doubling every two days. Demand a blood test and fight for your little one. Some people in an expecting club that I am in didn't see their heartbeats until 12 weeks but HCG was doubling and fetus was growing.

In cases like this it takes an ultrasound and a blood test to know anything. They need to do a couple of quanitative blood tests and compare numbers to see if they're going up or down and then do another ultrasound.

I'm glad you're going in next week... also get a couple of blood tests done as well.

You may not be as far along as you think.

Good luck.

I had a transvaginal ultrasound done at 8 weeks and was able to see the baby (although it was more of a blob) and hear the heart beat. I have known a few women, however, that were not able to actually see or hear anything until their 10 week for whatever reason. Best of luck to you!

Maybe you aren't as far along as you think. I saw both baby and hearbeat at 6 weeks and 4 days.

You know your body best. As long as you are healthy...and it isn't hurting you to hang on a bit...due. BUT-if you wait too long it could cause greater fertility problems later. I would be like you and want to wait as long as possible!

I am hoping someone here is right...and how far along you are is off, or something.
