5 players for each team and a goalie.

The forwards are left Wing, center, and right Wing. Defense is left and right. That's obviously what part of the rink they cover. The goalie stops the puck from going in the net, duh.

Forwards try to score and defensemen try to stop forwards from the other team. Although in the NHL forwards and defensemen try to score and stop the opposition.

Anything else like the penalties, just use Wiki.

There is too much to explain here. I highly recommend running up to the book store and getting yourself a copy of "Hockey for Dummies." Jay Davidson wrote it up, and it's pretty simple and a fun read. Good luck!

Start with this:
Detroit Red Wings wear red hockey sox while Boston wears black white and yellow ones. Got it?

Why don't you try to watch more than 10 minutes. It is pretty easy to pick up.

You are the puck. Be the puck. Stay one with the puck. The puck is our friend. All hail the puck! Puck is cold. Puck is fast. Puck is good. Blessed be the puck! Puck in your net - very sad. Puck in other net - very happy. Puck is life!
